The reminder operator (%) in C
I’ve found the reminder operator in C very annoying. For example, if you have a ≡ 1 (mod n), then there are three kinds of result in c:
a%n == n+1 // if a < 0 && n < 0
a%n == 1-n // if a < 0 && n > 0
a%n == 1 // if a > 0
